Counting & Number Recognition
Quick recap of counting plus a way to ask for help.
1 Concept recap
The big ideas of counting, in one place.
Counting in 30 seconds
- One-to-one: touch each object once and say one number per touch.
- In order: numbers always go 1, 2, 3, … — never skip.
- Last number wins: the final number you say is the total.
- Teens = ten plus: thirteen is 10 + 3 = 13.
- Roll over: 29 → 30, 99 → 100.
If counting still feels wobbly, practice with real objects — buttons, blocks, or fingers — before moving to addition.
