Graphing Lines Practice

An endless supply of never-repeating graphing problems: find intercepts, complete tables, match equations to graphs, and read slopes off marked points.

1 Practice

Type your answer and press Check answer (or Enter). A wrong answer earns a hint first;
a second miss walks you through the full solution.

How to enter answers

  • Intercepts and table values: plain numbers or fractions like 3/2.
  • Multiple choice: type the letter A, B, C, or D.
  • Slopes: simplified fractions like -1/2.
  • Yes/no: type yes or no.

2 What you’ll practice

Every problem is generated fresh from templates across several question types — a problem never repeats until its whole pool is used up.

Intercepts

Both intercepts from y = mx + b — the two free points.

y = 2x−4 → (0,−4) and (2,0)

Match the graph

Three graphs, one equation. Read slope and intercept visually.

which graph is y = 2x+1?

Read the graph

Marked lattice points give you the slope — then the equation.

(−1,1),(3,3) → m = 1/2

3 Watch out for these

The mistakes students make most often on these problems.

1. Points too close together

Wrong: (0, 1) and (0.5, 2), then freehand.   Right: use the intercepts — far apart, accurate lines.

2. Wobbly connectors

Wrong: curving through the points.   Right: linear means perfectly straight — use a straightedge.

3. Swapped intercepts

Wrong: (2, 0) called the y-intercept.   Right: the zero names the axis: (2, 0) is the x-intercept.
