- Place decides worth: the 2 in 2,500 is 2 thousands = 2,000.
- Expanded form: 345 = 300 + 40 + 5.
- Word form: “one hundred five” = 105 (0 holds the tens).
- Regroup: 10 ones = 1 ten, 10 tens = 1 hundred.
