Inequalities Lab
Slide the boundary lines and flip the signs: watch the shadings sweep, the feasible wedge open and close, and the vertex glide along.
1 Inequalities Lab
Sliders move the boundary lines; the chip buttons flip each inequality’s sign. The gold dot is the vertex; the green/red dot is a draggable-free test point at fixed coordinates you can type.
Vertex
2 What to notice
Three experiments.
1. Flip a sign
With both signs ≥/≤, the wedge opens upward. Flip inequality 2 to ≥: the feasible region jumps to the other side.
2. Make them parallel
Set both slopes to 1: the vertex vanishes — parallel boundaries have no corner.
3. Watch the vertex glide
Keep the signs fixed and slide b2: the gold vertex travels along line 1, always satisfying both boundaries.
