Slope Sprint

Skill: slope-from-two-points

Slope Sprint

Sixty seconds on the clock. Compute slopes from two points before the timer runs out — three lives, streak bonuses, and difficulty that ramps up as you play.

1 Play

Answer with the same formats as Practice: a number like 2 or -3/2, undefined for vertical lines, or positive/negative/zero/undefined for sign questions.

How the sprint works

  • 60 seconds on the clock — answer as many as you can.
  • +10 points per correct answer. At a streak of 4+, every extra streak level adds +2.
  • 3 lives — a wrong answer costs one heart and resets your streak.
  • Difficulty ramps up: integer slopes first, then fractions, then rates and sign traps.

2 Rules & scoring

The sprint rewards speed and accuracy — a wrong answer costs a heart and kills the streak, so steady beats frantic.

Answer formats

Slopes: integers, simplified fractions like -3/2, or decimals. Vertical lines: undefined. Sign questions: positive, negative, zero, undefined.

Scoring

10 points per correct answer. From a streak of 4, each extra level adds +2 — so a streak-5 answer is worth 14. Best score is remembered for this session.

Difficulty ramp

0–20s: integer slopes, zero, and undefined. 20–40s: fractional slopes and sign reads. 40–60s: rates, fractions, and the zero/undefined traps.
