Line Equation Converter
Start with two points, a point and a slope, or y = mx + b — get the equation back in all three forms, with exact fractions and every step shown.
1 Converter
Pick a starting form, type the data, and the tool derives the other two — exact, no decimals, no rounding.
2 How the tool works
All arithmetic is exact: the tool reduces fractions internally and never rounds. Type integers in the point fields;
slopes and intercepts accept fractions like 2/3 or decimals like 0.5.
Reading the results
Slope m tells you the tilt (rise over run). Point-slope is the natural first stop from data. Slope-intercept is the form for graphing and most word problems. Standard is the integer form Ax + By = C (A > 0) that many textbooks require.
Vertical lines
If the two x-coordinates are equal, the slope is undefined and there is no y = mx + b form.
The tool reports the only equation such a line has: x = (the shared x-value).
