2 Problem types
The generator mixes these types at random.
Multiply decimals
Strip the points, multiply, then count the total decimal places back in.
2.4 × 1.3 = 3.12
Count the places
Predict how many decimal places the product will need.
0.25 × 0.4 → 3 places
Divide by 10, 100, 1000
Shift every digit right — one place per zero.
4.8 ÷ 100 = 0.048
Divide by a whole number
Divide normally and lift the point straight up.
12.5 ÷ 5 = 2.5
Divide by a decimal
Shift both points to clear the divisor, then divide.
12.6 ÷ 0.3 = 42
Multiply by 0.1 / 0.01
A left shift in disguise.
7.5 × 0.01 = 0.075
