Problem types
Name the fraction
Count shaded parts over equal parts.

Build a fraction
Shade the parts yourself.
Example: shade 2 of 5 → 2/5
Simplify
Same amount, fewer pieces.
Example: 6/8 = 3/4
Missing piece
Find the numerator that makes them equal.
Example: ?/6 = 2/3 → 4
Number line

Example: 1/4 __ 1/2 → <
Zeros and wholes
The edge cases.

Common slip-ups
Counting unequal parts
Fraction names need equal-size parts. Unequal pieces get no fraction name.
Simplifying wrong
Divide top and bottom by the same factor: 6/8 = 3/4, not 6/8 → 3/8.
Forgetting simplest form
Always finish: an unsimplified answer is incomplete. 6/8 must become 3/4.
